What daily / weekly / monthly / yearly maintenance should I do in my house?
I am a young woman new to owning a home. I have a new house is quite 5 years old brick, 2 story. I am the faintest idea what all I need to do maintenance and stuff …. I saw something at Walmart that had to do with the septic system is supposed to, in total, in the toilets once a month … stuff. If someone can give me some things should be done regularly to ensure the house is in charge of proprerly, I appreciate it! thanks
Do not you have a septic system? If so, you can add enzymes that promote the decomposition organic matter. If you're in a city sewer system or other community does not have to worry about that. Weekly: Clean bathrooms, vacuum and mop floors change clothes. Tip: bath before bed linen keeps them fresh longer. Dust and polish furniture. Do one room per week and rotate so not have to spend a whole day on a task. Mow. Monthly Change filters or clean air filters and ventilation hood. Check and replace light bulbs. Check all within and outside faucets for leaks and repair as necessary. Trim shrubs and trees as necessary to allow a clear view of doors front and rear to prevent someone lurking in the shadows. Twice a year: check / replace the smoke detector and batteries in flashlights, emergency radios climate etc. Check and clean your furnace or AC compressor or subscribe to a service that will schedule and do this for you. Spring and fall, check your heat or air conditioning before you need to see if it is working properly and avoid calling at night or weekend service. Check all door locks and windows to make sure it is working properly. Fertilize the lawn regularly if you have one. Check with your county extension agent or garden supply renowned for the type of fertilizer you need and how often to apply. Households with vinegar in a spray bottle kills weeds as you go. Do not allow anything other than weeds. Annual: Keep track of everything you do and spend at home. Some items may be tax deductible or replacement cost basis of your home when you're ready to sell.
