Part3 Ozeki septic tank and bio gas

Septic System Methane
I want to do something artistic with my septic system methane, but not enough gas produceing.

Our tank has a capacity of 1,000 gallons. There is a four-inch vent pipe and sticking up in the middle of our garden, and we will get occasional bursts of odor outside. I want to burn methane, but I do not think enough is coming out of the pipe, "I can add a bacteria (give me a link to the end of, or not – whatever) or more for somthing boost the production of methane? Thanks !!!!!

FIRE Ooooh! This is going to be fun! Your septic system is already loaded with bacteria damn hungry – no should be added. What (they) need is food. Coliform bacteria (the kind in the tank or your gut) I like small molecular weight carbohydrates such as sugar. Sucrose (table sugar) have no problem. Find a way to get this into the tank. Probably as easy as washing ~ 50 lbs. by the crapper. (Probably not all at once.) When the tank reaches buffet and bacteria begin to eat, begin to brew. (It takes a great amount of sugar in turn aa the system (1000gal.) anaerobic – 50 lbs. is only a guess) The bacteria soon use up any dissolved O2 if there is a high enough concentration of food, and fermentation Anaerobic start. If you ever threw a fart who knows the end product of anaerobic fermentation of E. coli. I think that methane is lighter than air, you will need to contain it. The damned see vents that will not happen. Plug it up, maybe just a ball or stick with a bit of tape on them for a few days. Power will be difficult. Personally, I would pick a model rocket launch electronic thingy. Or at least some of the fuse wire, ~ 200 'of cheap speaker wire and a 9 volt battery. Attach a half-dozen or so fuses to one end of the cable with tape (to ensure a good contact electrical terminals and maintain two separate poles) and put across the globe or tape over the vent. Do not put in too far, or else wet and not light. Unwind the cord and when nobody is near and the video is rolling, playing drums at the wires. That should do it. Post video on YouTube see it! Good luck!

What is that smell? Volume II

Of all the articles I wrote entitled "What is that smell?" was the most popular. I Cross post some of my articles in some Ezine (Magazine Internet Slang) sites for more exposure and the opportunity to help more people. In This article consistently gets the most views and comments, and the problem remains one of the most discussed in chat rooms and forums. Now the problem in my house probably because of too much fiber in my diet and handled with a refreshing air force air industry, but most of everyone septic or sewer gas (methane) seeps into the house that I discussed in this article. Another problem offender the smell of rotten eggs, and not in the bathroom is caused by sulfur dioxide. The smell of rotten eggs is particularly true for people who have well water. The reason to have this smell is due to iron in well water and leech iron pipes cast in old age houses. The water heater does not tolerate the iron content. The smell that occurs when iron in the water comes into contact with the aluminum anode rod in the tank, purpose of the anode rod is to act as a recipient of the sacrifice of impurities in the tank and how it dissolves slowly. This bar should be replaced by magnesium. The stem is located at the top of the tank generally behind and between the supply of hot and cold water and it seems a large walnut. A new magnesium anode will cost about $ 25 and only need to change all or make a key. Monitoring shows the simple steps to facilitate replacement:
Step 1 Turn the gas control valve to the pilot's position and switch automatically disconnect the water heater. Shut off water in the tank. Empty the tank completely. There should be a connection hose bib at the bottom of beach where you can connect a garden hose and drain the nearest outside drain or running. To be sure burn hazard let the heater cool before draining.
Step 2 Remove the stem of the aluminum anode rod to loosen the age of the upper part with a connector appropriate size or a key and replace the magnesium rod.
Step 3 The safety of your water heater is based on the thickness of the anode rod in a 6 year warranty dissolves the anode rod in the fifth year in a pool of nine years in the eighth grade and so on. If you read the manual, in some cases, states that if you remove stem void the warranty. Whether the choice of a thick stem corresponding to the age the tank so that the solution will be coordinated life expectancy in the tank. If you have five years in the tank is not necessary to install a bar of eight years.
Step 4 Once you've completed the removal and replacement of the stem is time to wash the tank. With the boiler drain valve at the bottom of the tank open, free water for short bursts to remove sediment much iron from the bottom of the tank. You must repeat this process several times to remove everything you can to eliminate the reservoir.
Step 5 You should now be ready to fill the tank. Close the boiler drain below. Open the relief valve to let air escape and turn the water again. Put at least one hot water faucet in the house for water pipes do not fill with air, that your faucet run dry and can contribute to water hammer. Close the cock when you see the water, then close the valve.
Step 6 (Optional) To limit the amount of iron entering the plumbing in the future to install a sediment filter the admission of its water supply. The average cost would be $ 40.00. This will also keep clean the faucet aerators and increase the pressure of the water if it is inhibited by clogged vents.
Step 7 Now you're ready for the gas valve return to the position or turn the circuit breaker.

Note You can save your heating elements in water heaters to restart without water, so make sure you have completely filled prior to restart.

Hopefully this will eliminate the smell of your problem water. If the odor is coming from a leak or if the smell in the room when you walk, Please refer to my article Original mentioned at the beginning.
