Plumbing and Drainage Systems

The plumbing term comes from the Latin word "Plumbum" meaning because they used lead pipes used to be made of lead. While the news came sewer "essouier the French word", which means to drain.

It is the system that pipes, tubes and other plumbing fixtures are used for different drainage systems and waste water. The person responsible for maintenance and the installation is called a plumber.

The plumbing industry is one of the basic needs of a growing community. He has been with us since time old. The system is in ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, Babylon, Crete, Jerusalem, and China.

These countries need an adequate water supply and drainage systems as they developed public baths, fountains, and finally, the toilet or toilet.

Tubes in antiquity were of lead, clay, bamboo and stones. Plumbers would rely on gravity to supply water. Today, we use the pipes are made of copper, brass and other materials non-toxic. We also use high-pressure systems for water supply.

There are various plumbing and sewer plumbing companies used.

Plumbing System
A TUBE
Waste water pipes in the toilets, bathrooms, and other branches of the sewage pipes are connected to a main pipe which is connected to the sewerage system. All traps are fully ventilated.

PARTIALLY VENTILATED pipe
The function is similar to a pipe system. The difference is that there is a vent Airing the unpleasant smell from the toilet.

TWO PIPE
Soil and pipes are separated. The drains are connected trapped in a sewer, while the soil tubes are connected to the sewerage network. All traps are fully ventilated.

SINGLE STACK
The role of this system is the same as the piping system but there is a cheat.

Single stack PARTIALLY VENTILATED
This system function is the same as the pipe system partially ventilated one.

DRAINAGE SYSTEM
COMBINED
Foul and surface water is carried through the sewers and drains it.

SEPARATE
Foul and surface water have different or separate sewer and drains.

PARTIALLY SEPARATED
Part of the surface water is done through sewers and drains poorly.

Plumbing systems have many uses, such as cold and hot water, sewage, rainwater and surface water septic, fuel gas piping, and other liquids or chemicals. Plumbing and sewage are everywhere.

If you want to improve the plumbing system in your home or building, must know the different pipe materials commonly used.

TYPES OF MATERIALS pipe supply
CAST IRON
These are very strong but very difficult to cut.

ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene)
This is the first hard plastic that was approved for home drainage system.

PVC (polyvinyl chloride)
Plastic modern hard that is resistant to heat and chemical damage. The recommended material for drainage, waste and vent pipes.

Galvanized iron
This is a very strong material. This is very difficult to cut and fit and can corrode slowly.

CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride)
It is a rigid plastic that is formulated to resist pressure and high temperatures. It is also low price.

RIGID COPPER
The most recommended material for water pipes, because it resists corrosion and has a smooth surface.

CHROME COPPER
It is used in areas where the outside is important. It is durable and has a shiny surface.

FLEXIBLE COPPER PIPE
It's easy to shape all around the corners. It can withstand the breaks.

BRASS
It is durable and heavy. Usually used in areas where the outside is important because of its bright surface.
However, we find the plumbers who do a good job in installing Our plumbing and sewer system. They might use inferior materials that can cause many problems in the long term. Some of these are:

1. pipes Leaking can damage paint and wooden walls.
2. If you do not get a proper waste disposal wrong, perhaps the area and lack of odor may arise.
3. Any structure life can be reduced due to leakage of pipes.
4. Harmful molds and mold may grow due to wetlands created by the exhaust pipes.
5. Health problems may arise.

We should hire professional plumbing companies who have a good reputation and that it should investigate for companies because, ultimately, our health would be seriously affected.

Septic tank of water?

Is there any way to clean the water out of a septic tank? Is there a system of filters that you can buy? Also, the gas, odors can be filtered from all this? I know this is a "crap" theme … I'm sorry! hehe The tank is a tank Section 3 biological. Thx

I would ask advice before you start to get ….. what of the unintended pun. Why you need to do this? Water or output must be sufficiently filtered so as not to cause an odor. Has anyone been overdose in cleaning fluids at home as this can alter the balance of your system Bio, I try to see if you can add extra bacteria in the tank to revive the natural flora present in it. Whatever you do, do not try to add any cleaning agents that will be in trouble if you do powerful. There is a product called home pond that could add to your system are bacteria, but …. ask the experts because it first must be a product that can be purchased. I hope you get to the bottom of the problem and try to plant gooseberry bushes and raspberry canes close. You will have the best fruit imaginable.

What is that smell?

As has already been set when I started my blog, I really wanted to help people with their Plumbing problems and could not answer, which is probably 95% of what you ask, my friends in the supply builder help me find the answers. Well Ive had the site for a couple of weeks and you do not find or simply do not have a problem? So I decided to answer some things about myself and see if you resonate.
I am retired and disabled and to devote much time to enjoy myself with my laptop and reading intervention daily, DIY approximately 30 sites and some involving automobiles Mercedes-Benz (my other passion and my children grandchildren). In this spirit, I want you to know that the question most often, I see every day …. It <strong> "I have a horrible sewer / odor Septic emitting from the basement, the kitchen drain the laundry, etc., etc. "</ strong> Having experienced this problem and I First check my child's room to ensure that the smell does not come from him, I called the plumber friendly space. Now in Forums I read that there are several answers to this problem. The most common has to do with a full tank septic line clogged the culvert or a clogged vent line. But the easiest to correct and yet it is less expected is a dry "p" trap.
First let I see a show of hands for those of you who know what a "p" trap and where? I do not see many hands! When plumbing interior was invented wise ancestors thought all I had to do was run a hose to sink, toilet, shower, etc. directly to the septic tank, a black hole or another. Even thought the fact that wastewater from the house begins to deteriorate from bacteria (A good thing actually) and the bacteria emit little methane. This gas can make many things more offensive than smelly. May explode if father sneaks in the bathroom to smoke, which can stifle the house and did with some frequency. There is no way to stop gas at home. By fate and the precocious genius whose name escapes me, has found a simple solution … "P" trap, just a nudge in the pipe (see photo above) which is filled with water and keeps the gas in the house. They also contend diamond ring mother and falling into the gutter when you fall into the sink (A function originally thought). You look under your kitchen sink and the bathroom, you'll see it just below the elbow the drain connection. There are similar systems embedded in the toilet (again as an "S"), built in the walls of the pipe water as a washing machine drain or other drain lines. If this trap is empty, the methane gas accumulates in the home and the smell and risk.
How does the "p" trap of losing their water? Evaporation of the non-use of a leak, which is the bathroom alternative person who uses, more active dehumidifierin central air conditioning (very common in the humid States), a line of flight of washing machine and no machine Washing or even something simple like an old trick that has been oxidized in the bottom and can not collect water, instead you get a small leak, then comes the smell. And then? Use air freshener Someone PLEASE, I bought luxury bath!.
Now, I've seen other answers to the smell. Even the one where the septic tank clogged pipes and backed out of the underground wall of the basement and the gas leaked through the concrete block, but it was weird. My own experience has come to buy a holiday home in a rural area with mountain plumbing code and little or no controls. It was not long to feel bad smells in the basement and plumbing engineering I thought we did not install a washing machine so that the "p" trap for the drainage water did not. Simple fix, pour water in the drain until you start to use a washing machine. Still felt. Now here is where the leak to be in the wall and plumbing involved. To access the drain line must start from the wall. Era smell so strong it makes me want to start having to replace the plaster and the entire wall, WOOD filling and try to match the paint? Darn right he was. When the wall was torn and leakage has been presented has shown that our mountain without code, and not just inspection plumber run a line straight from the pipe washing machine drain in the house and septic system, without cheating. Thus, not only the cost of replacing wallboard, etc because I had to find a way to install a "p" on a wall with little or no place. A story too long and too much money to go further, just know that there may be many problems odor/stain- some Real Simple and complicated enough to buy a lot of air fresheners and the list of home for a quick sale.

There is a smell of petrol in my house, more stronger each day it seems. I can not find the source, it makes no sense. There is a smell of natural gas, the more we do not have natural gas here. We are not in a sewage system, septic tank but works well. I was wondering what other chemicals, in addition to gasoline can come off the same smell.
