Drain Clearing

Most of the These drain cleaners days will not damage your plumbing when properly used. The key is to make sure you use them correctly. If target = "_blank" title = "Plumber Birmingham"> your home has a septic system, make sure that any cleaning product specified it is safe for use in septic systems. The different types of blocking drainage products can be targeted to different types of problems and have different instructions, be sure to follow to achieve maximum effectiveness.

  • The first attempt is the faithful old plunger. A target = "_blank" title = "Plumber"> plunger works on the concept of hydraulic pressure to move the blockage. The problem with this approach in a kitchen sink or the bathroom is that the drainage can not be the only way out – there are often several drainages and / or overflow connections which make a plunger useless in these cases.
  • The next step is to try to remove the sink trap. Once at this stage, it is necessary to make sure you have a bucket and some towels handy. If you have already tried clear the clog with a drain cleaning chemical is necessary to be careful here, because it can still be residew in the sink, pipes, or trap. Before removing the trap, be sure to drain as much water as you can sink.
  • Place the bucket under the trap and loosen the connection to the pipe leading from the sink trap. When you open the front down the first pipe segment must be able to confine the water drain bucket – where removed from the first horizontal part that is likely to make a mess as the water drains in that direction. If the remaining water drains from the sink, you know hindrance if your below the line. If the water does not drain, then you need to check the section between the trap and the sink of the obstruction. In general, a screwdriver or length of coat hanger is enough to check and clear any blockages found.
  • next check to see if there is any obstruction in the trap to remove. Either take it to the toilet and see if water flows through it without hindrance or use a length of clothes hanger to investigate (and remove) any obstruction. If you found something blocking the trap, it should be all set. Reinstall the trap and flush water. If not found obstruction, it is time for another search.

So the sink and the trap are clear, what next?

  • Here is where you need tools that you can not have on hand but it is definitely a job for the right tool. Do not try to explore the pipe with everything that could potentially be dropped, break or otherwise become trapped in the pipes – the idea is to correct the problem, not cause major problems. The right tool for work at this time is usually a plumbers auger (also called a snake). It's a long, flexible spring device that is "slipped" down the tube. You can buy a small plumbing snake base in any supermarket or shop from home plumbing and are quite cheap.
  • Push the auger into the pipe until you encounter a blockage. If using a hand drill, you may need to turn to get around turns in the tube. Once you reach the blockage, turn in "spin" the blocking substance. If you have a fibrous obstruction, will pull the auger back along with a portion of obstruction – repeat as many times as necessary to remove it. For softer clogs (like grease) you may just force the auger through the obstruction and are based on water pressure later to help continue to remove the blockage loose.
  • If you are sure you have removed the blockage complete and you want to check before re-assemble the use of hoses to run some water through the tube. Run the water SLOWLY – you do not want to find out the hard way that the obstruction is still there. Keep the bucket under the pipe during testing. If disabled, remount the sink / trap and run water for a while – make sure your drainage is working normally – if it is slow, you may still have a partial blockage.

A possible solution is the variety of other water blaster drain cleaners. These devices are usually very inexpensive and usually consist of a rubber nipple with a hose attachment at one end. The concept is simple, you stick the nozzle into the drain, connected to a hose, and turn on the water. The water pressure causes the first wave nozzle to fill the drain pipe or opening and closing / hold it in place. Then the nozzle forces water in the tube block sort of compensation for the increased pressure behind it. If you listen, you hear a clear and obstruction of water flow through the pipes quickly

Netplumb can call you if you are having difficulty in cleaning pipes or blocked drains. The centers offer services such as bathroom installation and repair.

Septic System Blockage
Why is my bubble bath while I shower?

I have a house built in 1925, and one of the toilets was bubbling, while I showered next to it. Then when I tried to wash it, it would not drain, only full. There is a septic system, only that their standard pipes. Is it this as simple as a partial obstruction? If so, does not that sound as if it were in the main stack and not in the bathroom or shower respective drain pipes? Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like a vent pipe that is clogged. These are the tubes protruding from its roof. Sometimes you can clean by running water of a house for them and bring out what ever is in them. in an old house, you may not even have one or at least a separate one for the bathroom. this could be a great project to add one. It could also be a partial blockage of the sewer line.

I still believe there is a blockage of the pipeline to go through the septic tank, where tenants and owners on the road now and the effectiveness of all septic systems, but I am alone in the backup. then am I responsible even though she said it was?
